The event will feature a free car show in the Woodruff parking lot starting at 2:00 p.m. It is anticipated that dozens of cars from the community will be on display. Starting at 3:00 p.m., vendor booths will open in the gym (admission required) and will include displays and items for sale by community vendors as well as Engineering, Construction Trades and Metals Manufacturing classes. Health Occupations students will provide free blood pressure checks. The hair show (admission required) will be in the auditorium at 5:30 p.m. with the theme “Under the Sea.” Culinary Arts students are preparing refreshments that will be available for purchase.

“If you haven’t visited Woodruff since we re-opened a few years ago, or you haven’t been recently, this is the time to see the great things that are happening for students representing all high schools in the District,” said WCTC Assistant Principal Dr. Cindy Janovetz, who oversees career/technical programs. “We hope to have a huge turnout to support not only our students, but career/technical education in District 150.”

WCTC is home to three schools in one. The first floor houses career and technical programs for high school students in District 150, while the second floor hosts the Contemporary School, an alternative school for students looking for a smaller learning environment. The third floor houses the Regional Safe School that serves students from across Peoria County.
