Unite In The Fight Against Hiv/AIDS: World AIDS Day, December 1, 2018

World AIDS Day image

World AIDS Day is held on the 1st of December each year and is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have died. World AIDS Day was the first ever global health day, held for the first time in 1988.

On World AIDS Day, December 1, 2018, Central Illinois FRIENDS invites you to join us in support of the 37 million people around the world living with HIV/AIDS and recommit to achieving an generation that is HIV/AIDS-free. Significant strides have been made in prevention and treatment, yet the struggle with HIV continues in Black America and amongst our LGBTQ+ folks of color who bear the brunt of this disease.

There is promise to end HIV/AIDS, and the actions of our collective community can alter the course of this epidemic.

For more information on World AIDS Day activities in the Bloomington, Galesburg, and Peoria areas, please visit Central Illinois Friends facebook page: CIFriends1990 or feel free to contact us directly (309) 671-2144.
