The Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Peoria Alumnae Chapter hosted a Sisterhood and Legends Luncheon, March 25, 2017 at Carver Center.

Lavishly jeweled Alumnae decked in red, were graceful and courteous as they ushered the guest to various tables.

The Legends, after receiving their awards, gave short speeches which exuded encouragement and inspiration. After speaking, each Legend received a joyous applause from an admiring audience, who stood in respect for the honoree. The Glory of God was present as each Legend told their stories of perseverance and determination. The educated women in the room were impressive and admirable. The grace of God was flowing through the room, as these wonderful women showed us how success could be obtained through getting an education.

When the feisty Mrs. Pearly Bonds accepted her Legends award with a rousing commentary, the audience reacted with affectionate enthusiastic applause. After, the gorgeous Mrs. Angela Henry, accepted on behalf of her sister, Ms. Janet Allen, she gave a stirring speech, written by Janet.

The luncheon was a soaring success, accompanied with the most delicious food and the tables at which the guest sat were decorated elegantly. The entire affair was high-class and tasteful. The sisterhood shown generated warmth throughout the room and was the high point of the afternoon! In short, the entire affair was held with class and elegance, but of course with the elegant Mrs. Sharon Reed at the helm for the occasion!
