Richwoods was hosting a Christmas party for the Carver Center Early Head Start program when Micah shared with employee Betty Dixon, her church’s desire to help a mother and child during the holidays. Betty recommended Jewelisa who had been living at the Mission for the past 7 months and by the grace of God was recently approved for a new apartment that she would have the keys to in two days. The Peace Center’s focus is pushing people forward, to help them help themselves. The Peace Center’s team completely furnished her two bedroom apartment just in time for the New Year. Jewelisa and her 3 year-old son are looking forward to a brighter and more optimistic 2016.
