Peoria NAACP Upcoming June Activities – Jammin’ on the 13th – Juneteenth on the 20th

Jammin’ for Health will be held on June 13, 2015, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at the George Washington Carver Center.

This is a free family health fair featuring over 30 vendors offering free materials and testing to help people become as healthy and as well informed as possible.

There will be health screenings, resources and plenty of people to talk to about all the various support programs and pathways to get healthy here in Peoria.

Jammin’ For Health is sponsored by the Peoria Health Collaborative, which includes Molina Health Care, Central Illinois Friends, New Millenium, Peoria NAACP and Teens Stepping Out, Teens Speaking Out.

On June 20, 2015 from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm the Peoria NAACP will host JUNETEENTH, a free outdoor picnic and music celebration on our property, the Pearly S. Bonds Community Center, across from MLK Park. There will be live music from four church choirs, inflatable floats and games for children, free hot dogs, free popcorn and free cold drinks for everyone. The public is most certainly invited. There will be a short presentation at noon of local dignitaries and rededication of the Peoria Branch Charter.

The Peoria NAACP is 100 years old in 2015 and will be organizing events throughout the year.
