Peoria County and Ameren Illinois to host Residential Electronics Recycling Event Saturday, July 25th

Peoria – Peoria County’s Office of Sustainability & Resource Conservation is partnering with Ameren Illinois to host a residential electronics recycling event on Saturday, July 25, from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Illinois Central College’s (ICC) North Campus parking lot, 5407 N. University Street in Peoria. Representatives from Advanced Technology Recycling (ATR) will be on hand to collect electronic items that are no longer accepted in landfills.

Peoria County residents can drop off up to 10 electronic items, including TVs, VCRs, radios, CD players, cell phones, computers, laptops, tablets, printers, cables, keyboards, gaming systems, and MP3 players. No microwaves or appliances will be accepted. This is a residential-only event; items from local businesses will not be accepted. The electronics recycling event is dependent upon weather; in the event of severe weather, the recycling collection will be suspended.

If residents are unable to attend, electronics can be dropped off throughout the year at ATR, 8202 N. University Street in Peoria.

ATR is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
