janet-fashion-show-5Janet Davis, owner of the clothing store Janet’s Just for You, will present the finale of her annual style show, “Around Town Fashions of the Elite”. The event will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2016, at the Par-A-Dice Hotel, 21 Blackjack Boulevard in East Peoria at 5:30 p.m. This year’s theme: “Then and Now”, marks the 20th year and the end of her signature event. Many of Peoria’s finest citizens, both children and adults alike, have had the opportunity to grace the runway in her shows. Among them and in loving memory are: Liz Randall and Pam Netters. Mrs. Davis’ expertise in fashion and her experience as a successful business owner has drawn hundreds of people to her shows each year. Attendees can expect to get the “whole package” with the season’s latest styles, creative talent and energy that has become the hallmark of her event. She credits Addie Farmer, Linda Johnson, Mary Cornish (Aunt Sisie) and also in loving memory Ms. Ella Edward and Nina Lee for their altruistic efforts throughout the years.

Janet’s Just for You is located at 1750 North Sheridan Road and was founded in 1992 by Janet and her husband, George Davis, for women and men looking for that exclusive style, no matter what the dimensions. Although this is the last style show for the clothing store, Janet will continue to serve the community with the highest quality of apparel. “I’m still in business,” she says. “This is my 25th year.” Her models will continue to be an integral part of the Salvation Army Fashion Show and a gala will be held each year in March for the “Help-A-Child Scholarship Fund” in memory of her parents, Herman Cornish and Willie Ruth Harps and mother –n-law, Kizzie Davis to support youth in the community by encouraging them to attend and to continue their college education. Two scholarships are awarded each year.

Davis is a devoted wife, mother of four, the grandmother of twelve and is actively involved at her beloved Ward Chapel A.M.E. Church.

Tickets for the event are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. For more information, or to make a contribution to the Help a Child Scholarship Fund, contact Janet at 685-7844. All donations are tax-deductible.
