Illinois Black Chamber of Commerce Annual Legislative Day

2014 Legislative Day (Lincoln Statue)

The Illinois Black Chamber of Commerce is preparing for its annual Legislative Day hosted by President and CEO, Larry Ivory, Wednesday, April 15, 2015. This will be the largest gathering of 400 black businesses leaders and chamber members that will converge at the Capitol Building in Springfield. They will gather to meet with various legislators and other business people from 10am to 4pm. This event is also a free event open to the black business community. The ILBCC plans to look at different pieces of legislation that may positively or negatively impact black businesses. Joined by a number of its federation partners, the ILBCC plans to also discuss its perspective of how to help improve the black business climate in Illinois. “We believe our goals are in line with those that the Governor and our legislators have set in place to help serve their constituents who are seeking more economic opportunities and the American Dream,” says Mr. Ivory.

To top off Legislative Day, a reception is held from 5pm – 8pm at the Hilton Springfield, 700 E. Adams Street, where business owners and legislators can enjoy complimentary food.
