Grace Baptist Church Annual Women in White Service Sunday June 7th

Pastor C.L. White, Jr. and the congregation of Grace Baptist Church located at 405 N. Richard Pryor Place in Peoria, Illinois are extending an invitation to the community as they celebrate their Annual “Women in White Service.” The service is scheduled on Sunday afternoon, June 07, 2015 at 3:30 pm.

Sister Cynthia V. Taylor, the wife of Dr. Joel D. Taylor, Pastors of the St. Paul Baptist Church and the Greater Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, Illinois is the guest speaker for the afternoon service. Sister Taylor is the daughter of the late Reverend J.P. & Sis. Ruby L. White, who pastored the Greater Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church and where she accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at the age of six. Sister Taylor received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Governor State University of University Park, Illinois, a Masters of Art degree in Professional Counseling from Olivet Nazarene University of Bourbonnais, Illinois and is presently pursuing a Ph.D. in Counseling Studies at Capella University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Cynthia’s hobbies are mentoring youth, spending time with her husband and children, reading, shopping and cooking. She is a gifted vocalist who loves to sing for the Lord, which is evident in the concerts she has performed for over 30 years. She is cognizant that her life is full as a wife, a pastor’s wife, a mother, a vocalist, a therapist and an encourager; however, she stands firm that the Lord is the strength of her life and she joins in concert with David the psalmist, “I will bless the Lord at all times and His praises shall continually be in mouth.” Psalms 34:1.

The Women in White event originated in the early 90’s under the leadership of the late Reverend Jeffery Ivory, Sr. At that time, the late Leola Ross was President of the Ministers and Deaconesses Wives. Years later, Pastor Ivory encouraged all the ladies of Grace Baptist Church to come together to praise and worship in this special event.
