God Promised To Hold You Up By Evangelist Charity E. Sephus

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee; be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee;

yea, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.”  Isaiah 41:10

charity SephusVery often we slump when we feel unhappy, dissatisfied, or afraid; sending a body message of these things. Personally, when I get a glimpse of myself doing this I also hear the voice of my mother saying “stand up straight!” We don’t like what situations do to us, so we tighten up our lips, push our chin forward, and maybe even ball up a fist. There are times when, as we wait for a solution to something; we decline in the shoulders with our head absolutely hung down. “LIFT UP YOUR HEADS O YE GATES, AND BE YE LIFTED UP YE EVERLASTING DOORS, AND THE KING OF GLORY SHALL COME IN” (Psalm 24:7)

Whenever you feel the oppression and see it manifested in your body language, straighten up. Check your facial expression and change it to a “I HAVE CONFIDENCE IN GOD” attitude. Wash your face and anoint it as you pray. Say, “God is with me!” Say, “God is holding me up!” Remember, His right hand of righteousness is not like that of any other hand. As the lyrics in the song, “His Hands” by Stuart Hamblen says, “His hands paint the flowers and he puts leaves on the tree. At his whisper birds start singing when your heart needs melodies.” Why stray from His goodness when you feel you’re in a jam? The last time you were in trouble, God gave you mercy and he has not changed. Get back into his presence; He said, “I will strengthen you; I will help you…” The more we train ourselves to “LIVE BY FAITH” the more natural it becomes.

When Peter obeyed the Lord’s command to walk on the water, he was fine until he heard the voice of fear and had a panic attack. (Matthew 14:29) Each of us could be in the same predicament without realizing it. We must be careful to obey the right command.  Look closely at this account and recognize the lesson of faith, doubt, and miracles. The Savior is waiting to uphold you as a highway under your feet. God knows about your hard-working hands. His hands still give you mercy and favor without any help because he is established superiority. Don’t be afraid. Since Jesus has blessed in the past, that is proof of his immutability. Search your records and add to them this fact from Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever”.  Believe these words and feel better!

If some personality causes you discomfort, read Psalm 118:6, “The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do unto me?”  When you feel better, hold on to the feeling like it is God’s right hand of righteousness. Thank God with a smile and your head erect towards the sky.
