Need to take the GED?

Save yourself time, money, and GED test anxiety by taking advantage of the free GED practice tests available through the Peoria Public Library. These practice tests are freely accessible anytime, anywhere from the Peoria Public Library website (peoriapubliclibrary.org) with a valid library card, PIN and an internet connection. If you’d like some help getting started with these tools, stop in to one of the GED-Ready Practice Test Labs! The labs are being offered at the Peoria Public Library Lincoln and Main Library computer labs so you can learn more about the practice tests, see them demonstrated, and explore them for yourself, with help available if needed.

Just stop in the computer lab at the Lincoln Branch between 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 16, and 30, and May 14, or at the Main Library between 2:00-4:30 p.m. Saturday, March 28, April 11 and 25, and May 9!

The GED-Ready Practice Test Lab was designed with the needs of busy, real-world GED students in mind, with no registration or sign-up required and multiple times, dates, and locations to choose from (listed above – please call (309) 497-2000 if you’d like to request additional times or dates for consideration). It also follows an open lab format, meaning that students can come and go whenever suits them within the lab hours. There will be a short demonstration of how to access and use the GED practice tests at the beginning of each lab time, so it is best to arrive in time to watch that, but librarian assistance will always be available throughout the lab period if students miss the demonstration or need any other help along the way. Contact information for a variety of free GED tutoring programs in the area will also be provided at the GED-Ready Practice Test Lab.

Additional dates will be considered in the summer depending on attendance and feedback from participants.
