Don’t Be the Weapon Formed Against Yourself That’s Causing You Not to Prosper By Robin Carter

Isaiah 54:17, the Scripture says, “No weapon formed against me shall prosper.” And every tongue that rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the Heritage of the servants of the Lord and their righteousness is from me,” says the Lord.

This is saying God is in charge–He created the one who creates the weapons. Now God did not say that weapons would not form–just that the weapons formed would not be successful. This promise to Israel is often applied to God’s children today as we deal with spiritual enemies of the World. God’s Word still holds true today and forever more. However, we must be careful not to be the one forming weapons against others or even ourselves. That thing that’s been holding you back from becoming an entrepreneur–don’t allow it to take control of you anymore.

People will tell you, ‘Don’t get your hopes up; if your plans fall through, you’ll be disappointed, you’ll be hurt. Listen, I’ve already been hurt. I’ve been disappointed. So, I am saying,” Get your hopes up! Raise them high. First, believe in God, then believe in yourself. Raise your standards, raise the bar to your lifestyles.

Everybody does not come into your life to stay; some are here only for a season. Know this and believe this. If you want to be happy, you deserve to be happy. If you want to be blessed, you deserve to be blessed. Tell yourself; I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Stop doubting yourself; moreover, stop doubting God. In doing this, you’re forming your own weapon against yourself.

Often times we get so caught up in viewing something one particular way that we sometimes forget to look at it from a different view. There are two sides to everything. Omit saying that’s the way I’ve always done it and change that thing to a more pleasing, more profitable situation.

If a carpenter is building something and suddenly a piece doesn’t fit, he may need to carve it a little bit or even replace the whole piece. We need to omit comments such as, it won’t fit, it just won’t work, I don’t think I can do this. Look, it’s better to try and fail than to fail to try.

When we doubt ourselves, we are forming our own weapons against ourselves. So yes, it’s true, no weapon formed against us shall prosper–the weapons may form, but they don’t have to prosper. And so, in order for an already formed weapon not to prosper, we have to be willing to stop it, and if we can’t stop it, give it to God.
