Decorations Up, Decorations Down, You Decide By Michelle Sanders

Michelle Sanders photoHow long should you leave up your holiday decorations?  Well, the 12 days of Christmas rule (an entirely made up rule in my family) is fun and could become a family tradition. Put decorations up on the 12th day of December and take them down 12 days later. Ultimately, it is entirely up to you when you take them down. However, if you keep decorations up too long, it’s possible you’ll end up not taking them down at all or the outdoor weather will prolong the whole process of removing them before you reach next Christmas.

Here are some quick tips to keep the holiday look in your home after the tree and decorations have come down:

  • Keep your home festive by leaving up some Garland.
  • Keep Christmas lights on and around the home as lighting is important.
  • Have a nice table scape for your holiday guest to view.
  • Use soy scented candles to add warmth and fragrance to the atmosphere.
  • Hope these quick tips help you decide when to remove your décor.
