Randle and the members of the Higher Dimensions Praise & Worship Church of Peoria, along with the family of Deacon Wilbur Howard, helped Deacon Howard celebrate his 100th birthday after church services on Sunday, June 28, 2015, with a birthday dinner. Deacon Howard was born June 24, 1915 in Edina, Missouri, to William and Bertha Howard. Deacon Howard pic 1_v1He was their only child. He married his lovely wife, Sally, on October 4, 1979. The both of them have been a great inspiration to the Higher “D” church family.

Deacon Howard grew up in church, and was ordained as a Deacon by Pastor Simon Holly at the Prince of Peace Baptist Church in Peoria, where he served as a Sunday School teacher, and with the Layman’s Ministry. Deacon Howard also served as Youth Sunday School instructor and he Layman’s Ministry at Morning Star Baptist Church, Peoria, IL, under the leader-ship of the late Pastor Calvin Hightower. Deacon Howard, with his wife Sally by his side, continues to encourage the Church to stand firm on the Word of God, and to be “determined to do the right thing.”On June 14, 2015, the Men’s Department of Higher “D” paid tribute to Deacon Howard during the Men’s Day Program, by presenting him with a plaque thanking him for his many years of Kingdom Work. As a resident at Manor Care nursing facility, Deacon Howard is loved by staff and residents for his “Walking the Halls Ministry,” as he goes from room to room, sharing the Good News of the Gospel, a cheerful laugh, and lots of love and inspiration to the staff and other residents, while singing his favorite song, “This Little Light of Mine, I’m Gonna Let It Shine.”We thank God for blessing us with such a great man who is willing to share his wisdom with everyone he meets.
