Common Place Volunteer Orientation and Training Workshop, September 30, 2015

common placeThe Adult Literacy Program at The Common Place Family Learning Center will offer a Tutor Orientation and Training Workshop on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 5:30-8:00 p.m. and continuing on Saturdays, October 3 and October 10, from 9:00 to 3:00 p.m. (all sessions at Common Place). Established in 1967, Common Place is a social service organization with a mission to embrace diversity and improve lives through education and family support. Educational programs start with various youth programs for students in grades K-12. Students entering college can attend the Raising Achievers Program. The Adult Literacy Program helps to improve reading, writing, and math skills. There is also an adult life skills program called Next Steps! and a food pantry that distributes food every Friday afternoon from 1 to 3pm.
