Common Place Family Learning Center to recongize two community leaders for their “Love in Action” June 21, 2016

Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis and PPS Kherat, Dr. Sharon color_v1 Jim-Ardis_1433263109_add_v1Superintendent Dr. Sharon Desmoulin-Kherat will be honored with the Common Place Love In Action Award at the 10th Annual Common Place Love in Action Award Reception at The Warehouse on State Street on Tuesday, June 21, 2016.

Common Place’s Love in Action Award was first created in 2007 to honor those from the community who support the Common Place mission and have made a lasting difference in our community in the areas of justice, community organizing, neighborhood development/stabilization, education or literacy.

The June 21st reception will honor these distinguished individuals, while also celebrating a year of achievements at Common Place.  Proceeds from the reception will help support the Common Place literacy programs for children, adults and families.

Tickets for the Common Place Love in Action Award Reception are $55 per person.

Deadline for reservations is June 13. 

The reception is from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., with program beginning at 6:00. 

 

Common Place Family Learning Center is a social service organization focusing on literacy and is located on Peoria’s South Side.  Common Place offers after-school tutoring and enrichment activities for children grades K – 12, summer tutoring for grades K – 12, summer youth programs for children ages 8 – 15 years, adult one-on-one tutoring, small reading and math group classes and GED study.
