Comedian, Actor Lavell Crawford to Perform at Bradley University January 23, 2016

The Epsilon Kappa chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated at Bradley University will host a performance by comedian, actor Lavell Crawford at the 24th Annual Winter Comedy Show on Saturday, January 23, in the Renaissance Coliseum. 24th Annual Comedy Show flyerThe doors will open at 7 p.m. and the show will begin at 8 p.m. Tickets may be purchased in the Bradley Student Activities Office, at Eventbrite.com, or at the doors of the show. Tickets are only $10 for the general public. 

Funnyman Lavell Crawford is quickly climbing the comedic ranks and becoming one of the hottest stars in the biz today. Lavell gained huge national exposure on NBC’s, “Last Comic Standing.” Not only did NBC take notice, promptly signing Lavell to a holding deal with the network, but also Comedy Central, offered him his own half-hour stand-up special, “Comedy Central Presents: Lavell Crawford” which aired in early 2009. Lavell’s stand out work includes appearances on “Shaquille O’Neal Presents: All Star Comedy Jam” which premiered on Showtime in December, “Russell Simmons’ Def Comedy Jam” on HBO, “Showtime at the Apollo, “Martin Lawrence Presents 1st Amendment”, “Comic’s Unleashed with Byron Allen”, “Steve Harvey’s Big Time, “Comedy Central’s Premium Blend,” “Motown Live” “BET’s ComicView” and has appeared in the films “Baby’s Mama Drama”, “Ghetto South Problems” and on the televised series “The Jamie Foxx Show.” Comedian Dominique will open the show. Dominique is one of the most explosive comedians performing today. “Together, Lavell and Dominique are a phenomenal comedic combination, and we cannot wait to see them perform at Bradley,” said Rasheed Habler, the president of Bradley’s Alpha Phi Alpha chapter.

Prior to the comedy show, Alpha Phi Alpha will also be hosting its Miss Black & Gold Scholarship Pageant at 2 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom at Bradley University.
