Central Illinois Coalition of Black Trade Unionist (CICBTU) to Hold Monthly Meeting On Sunday, April 24, 2016

On Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 2;30 p.m., the newly formed Central Illinois Coalition of Black Trade Unionist (CICBTU) will hold its monthly chapter meeting at the Peoria Public  Library Lincoln Branch located at 1312 W. Lincoln Ave., Peoria, IL 61605.

We are inviting local unions and caucuses representing labor workers who fall under the APRI’s constituency groups; Women (CLUW), Minorities (CBTU), Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance (APALA), Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA) and the LGBT community (PRIDE AT WORK).

The Chapter has been chartered “Central Illinois CBTU” and will join with other chapters in Chicago, Joliet and St. Louis working with Illinois and surrounding area Trade Unions on behalf of working families as well as community partners and allies.

The chapter has elected General Parker (IBB) as its president. He does this work with the help of his 1st Vice-president Victory Bell (Retired SEIU and former Rockford City Councilman), Virgil Mayberry (Retired IAM and current Rock Island City Councilman) and other board members within its jurisdiction of Peoria, Rock Island and Rockford, IL.
