Hebrews 11:1 Faith is the assurance of things hoped for.

It is the final product of things we can’t see. Live by faith and claim the security of God. God will not fail us when we practice unwavering faith. God hears when we express confidence, knowing that we depend upon his keeping power: so, my friends, keep trusting in God.
Mother’s care was admirable as our remarkable father often worked two shifts. The sight of her caring for him is one I’ll never forget. Proverbs 12:4 “An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, but she who shames him is as rottenness in his bones.” Marriage is a life-long covenant between a man and a woman to live as one flesh for their mutual benefit and the bearing of children.
My Mother, a classic of delight
When first I understood her with delight; (the prettiest lady in the world to me)
Her lovely presence sent,
to be my example and ornament. (I admired her ways, her beauty, and her kindness. She was the best role model as a young lady I could have).
Her busy eyes radiated the peace of the morning fair.
Like twilight too, she had very pretty hair (Even when I had to awaken her suddenly, she would smile before she spoke.)
Yet all the things concerning her drew
From evening time ‘til cheerful dew;
A graceful figure, an image of the day,
To glide and admire, like Feng Shui.
Having more than we needed allowed us to share all around our neighborhood. (Toys, clothing, food, furniture, and window dressings). She shared her decorating talents, resilience, fashion taste, and singing. Mother was unselfish. “The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away, blessed be the name of the Lord.” Sharing was one way that she exercised “Living by Faith.” Her watchful, decisive, enduring eye left me knowing that only Jesus could have helped her conduct such winning goals.
She got up singing each day. “Some folks don’t ever read their bible; some never kneel and pray. They make light of me shouting, but I’ll keep praising Him anyway. Jesus will welcome me home, and I’ll be praising him around his throne.” Diligent work and unwavering faith were key roles in her path of accomplishments.
Responsibilities never wavered as she was conscientiously available at home, community, and church while we were scattered in schools. Because of our ages, some were in elementary school, high school, and college at the same time. I didn’t exactly have those circumstances with my family: even having raised six, and my youngest son is forty; (four of them are over 50 years old), when I add grands, nieces, and nephews, my numbers are as unbelievable as Mother Beard’s.
Mother called on Jesus in different ways: tenderhearted, distressed, happy, or worship, but always in Faith. When she cried, it was after the battle. Tear-filled eyes of a soldier during the battle describe one who is dead. We respected her tears with compassion and quietness in the house. She never gave up. “God heard her prayers and saw her tears as she often smiled through them.” 2 Kings 20:5 There we sang.
Psalm 56:8 Since we know life brings joys and sorrows, we must allow God to win battles and catch our tears as he keeps count of our tossing with our tears in bottles as we go “Onward Christian Soldiers.”
