The Supreme Court, the Republicans, and yes, some Democrats, have taken away the inalienable rights of women and some children to have control of their own bodies and have the freedom to make their own choices. Some are doing it in the name of Christianity. So, what is a Christian? Is a Christian a person who would force a 12 or 14-year-old child or just an innocent woman who has been raped by a family member or an over-aggressive person to carry a baby as a constant reminder of the abuse and trauma they endured? Is a Christian a person who feels that they have the right to discriminate against people that don’t look and think like them? Is a Christian a person who is without sin? Is a Christian a person who has the right to make decisions for anyone other than themselves and their own children?
Webster says that a Christian is someone whose behavior and heart reflects Jesus Christ. Being gracious and merciful to others is behaving like Christ. Forgiving, loving and praying for our enemies is Christ-like. Caring for the sick, needy, underprivileged, widowed, orphaned, poor, abused, vulnerable and those who are last is Christ-like. In the USA, approximately 2,102,400 children become orphans each year. I say to those of you who spend your time, money, and energy to take away the rights of women and girls, how dare you call yourself a Christian!
I worked in a Christian orphanage where they locked children in closets, tied them to beds, and refused to feed them, all because they didn’t like the color of their skin. The staff forced the young girls to have sex with them and when they were done with them, they either died or disappeared. Of course, I was fired because I was caught feeding a child in a dark closet.
So, let’s be fair, for all those of you who call yourself men, who have absolutely no idea what it means to conceive, carry and birth a child─ This is for you! I challenge every local, state and national elected representative, senator, governor and or congress member to write legislation to be presented as a bill to become law that every man under the age of 60 living in states where the rights of women have been taken away, receive a vasectomy within one year of the passing of said bill. Let’s just be fair!
