Deacon Charles C. Hines Sr. Honored By Karen Hill Gallien

Charles C. Hines Sr. received a proclamation by Peoria Mayor Rita Ali on June 11, 2022. Mayor Ali recognized Charles C. Hines Sr. for his citizenship, contributions to his community, and public service.

The mayor proclaimed that June 11, 2022, be officially declared Charles C. Hines Sr. Day in the city of Peoria, Illinois. The honoree surrounded by family and friends at Raber Packing Company celebrated his 86th birthday while humbly receiving the proclamation and honor from Mayor Ali.

Charles C. Hines Sr. has been a resident of Peoria for over 60 years contributing to his community and has the honor of being the first and longest-serving deacon at the Church of the Living God in Peoria. Although retired from Caterpillar Tractor Co., he continues to be faith driven in volunteerism and his church.

Mayor Ali stated, “We are honored to have Charles C. Hines Sr. as a resident and contributor in making Peoria a better place.”
