Let love be your highest goal By Rev. Charity E. Sephus

Happy Mother’s Day, dear young mothers. You can make it through any storm when you “Let Love Be Your Highest Goal!”

Keep your hand in the hand of God. Life is filled with joys. At times we have them only by searching with clean attitudes, and with pure heartedness. Other times they are just as available as the morning sun, but unless we put away things of confusion, we will work harder to see and enjoy available blessings.

Ephesians 4, verses 29- 32. “Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” When our hearts are loaded with bitterness and hurt feelings, it is like having ingested poison that will rotten our bones. Ask our faithful God for strength and keep making your highest effort of Love.

Practicing a “Hardy” (a scientific) propensity of kindness helps us to “grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” How do you want the Lord to find you when he comes again?  Will you be faithful to Him; doing your best to practice love? As we make love our highest goal, it helps us heal from bitterness. As we sow good seed, we slow down anger enough to conquer it. Each folly left behind helps to conquer the next one. Be not deceived, God is not mocked.

The scripture states that whatever a person sows, he will reap. Just imagine planting an apple seed and growing a tree that produces oranges. That is impossible. God makes us aware of Satan’s devices because he loves us. When life’s follies try to overtake us, we must pick up the pace of following Jesus faithfully each day to stay way ahead of the follies as we obey God quickly.

Christianity is my life in this world, it helps to keep my feet on the ground going God’s way. It is my “Hardy” plant to bear twelve months of fruit in all kinds of weather, with fidelity to duty as its root and branch. Even though we pray to God calling Him by great or dear names, nothing can take the place of simply doing his will.

Have a Happy Mother’s Day kind and loving young Mothers, keeping love as your highest goal. Romans 12:9 “Let Love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.” Let Love be without hypocrisy.  Let’s enjoy sunshine and peace of mind. There is a place of heart that surpasses all understanding. Only Jesus can take you there. Get ready for the trip! Enjoy the destination.
