“I believe and I am sure that Jesus is the Christ, the son of the living God.” (John 6:69)
Why would I not believe and certify His identity when there are so many witnesses? The centurion said it, Mark and John. The angel told Mary that her child would be the son of God, and these are among innumerable witnesses.
Now when I compare myself with Jesus, my birth certificate says I am Charity Elizabeth Sephus, which is the name I am always called and answer to. Like Jesus, many witnesses identify me as the daughter of Claude and Frances Beard. While Jesus, as God’s son and his heir, I am also a child of God, and co-heir, sharing his sufferings and glory.
My heritage allotment comes to me moment by moment as I enter heavenly blessings with faith in Jesus. To receive comes with belief. I search relentlessly in His divine strength to flee the terror of a rising deadly germ. “We who have believed, so enter rest.” Come with me, my friends, to the verse of our Lord’s invitation, “Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” My God-given measure of faith guides and enhances Christian confidence. To be incomplete would be to continue carrying life’s exigencies instead of obeying the next word of exhortation, “Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, and you shall find rest unto your souls.” I enjoy God’s rest during my willing service. My quiet heart hears the shouts of the Lord keeping me from Satan’s devices. He hears my cries and showed pity for my groans, and I always rush to the throne of grace for help in a time of need.
Hebrews 10:22 – Let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. There is an enemy lurking to steal any portion of my inheritance if I let go or become lackadaisical: my Lord never sleeps, but guards personified safety.
This study- testimony is personal: yet it reaches the hearts and touches the souls of my readers. If I would claim salvation in one sense yet keep seeking it, oh! My God, how miserable and double-minded I would be. I accept freedom FROM sin and death, basking subliminally in eternal life. This makes me happy because Christ is all the world to me, leading with blessed thoughts as I seek heavenly comfort, not the grave.
The blood of Christ, who paid my sin debt, taking no mortgage on my life but letting me choose a fortune of glory, reserves my heavenly inheritance. Powerfully, I follow ushers into safety without flinching. Big brother Jesus dominates the works of darkness, including sin, sickness, disease, and death. After searching the records, I stake my claim to Christ.
