As I looked at the pictures of the latest entrant into the family, I wondered what she would become as she grew older. Then I thought about genetics! The child is the product of all of our genes on both sides of her family. Then my mind went to the discovery that all-female genes can be traced back to Eve, the first Mother. So, the answer to what will she be like was right there. Her genes will dictate her outcome along with training and education. Also, love and nurturing. Love will be a big part of her growth as a human being, she is one step ahead with a loving father and mother. However, her genes will play a big part in how she develops.
Gregor Mendel, a Moravian scientist and Augustinian friar, was the first to study genetics scientifically. He studied trait inheritance and the way trait patterns are handed down from parents to offspring. It all depends on trait inheritance. I also believe in spiritual interference and religious faith. Anyway, it will have a lot to do with the child’s upbringing. Some people teach hate, and some teach love and respect.
I look harder at the pictures, and I look at the Golden Rule in me, and I hope that will be a trait pattern she inherits from me, her Great Great Grandmother!
