Summer Break: The Perfect Time to Read a Book By Latasha Schraeder

School’s out! This month, I want to do something a little different. I always encourage you to schedule a time for your family to unplug. I often urge you to spend time with your children and share with you the importance of each child reading a few minutes each day at home to maintain and/or improve their reading skills.

Let me preface this by saying I am a life-long bibliophile. I love everything about books: the smell, the texture, and the act of physically turning each page. With this in mind, I have created a list of ten books to read over the summer. The main character in each book is a person of color. Each book is age-appropriate for you to read with your children. Enjoy!
