God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth be removed, and the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea. God shall help her, and that right early. Psalm 46:1-2,5
First, I give honor to God for allowing me to live and publish with a voice of thanksgiving, this small testimony of His kindness. I realize that He did not have to bless me, but he is merciful. When I need a touch from Jesus, I open my heart, lift my hands, and receive His blessing with a trusting heart.
It was over 50 years ago when I left my house carrying my infant, and three small children walked beside me. I headed towards my mother’s house, which was a few blocks away. Suddenly a pack of barking dogs came charging towards us. There was nothing I could have done, but God was watching over us as three men yelled at the dogs, throwing sticks and bricks to stop them. Their help did just that. The dogs turned in another direction, and we continued our walk with all our stomachs nervous, and hearts grateful.
I am so grateful that Christ is in my life. He is my helper in unforeseeable situations of ills. God’s miraculous intervention has delivered us from dangers. We know that only His presence kept us from being horrendously attacked. “In Him we have redemption through his pureblood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.” Eph. 1:7
Dearly beloveds, we must REMEMBER to focus on God’s presence. 1Pet. 5:7 “May the Lord our God be with us as he was with our ancestors; may he never leave us nor forsake us.”
Life startled us, but the hope within us must remind us of Deuteronomy 31: which says, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
The four little children spoken of in this testimony are all now over fifty years old. We gave them back to God to be used in the “plain path” prepared for them in the days of their youth.
We add two more to our family of Christians, singers, preachers, and teachers. They all have ineffable links to the lovingkindness of God. Let us pray…
O God, Early will I seek you praying for the souls of my children protected from their youth. Hear my plea in this dry, thirsty land of disease and hatred. Allow us to see your power and glory. Because your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips will praise and bless you now. I lift my hands in your name. May our souls be satisfied with marrow and fatness, and our mouths will praise you with joyful lips remembering you and meditating on you in the night watches. In Jesus’ wonderful name, I pray. Amen.
