They rise up through glass ceilings
As many try to keep them down
They’re paid much less though are the best
While moving town to town
They come from higher learning
Their studies show supreme
Far out in all their classes
Personalities how they gleam
Their days are never finished
With love they whip up meals
And next day in those board rooms
They tie up corporate deals
Some sit on benches in court Rooms
To judge combative speech
They render what is in the law
At home with children teach
They make a way within their day
But rarely get true acclaim
For they only try their best
And do it in love’s name
For they know daughters watching
Or maybe that her son
Shall give the woman, her just do
And God who is the one.
