The Illinois State Black Chamber wishes you Season’s Greetings and a very Merry Christmas as we bring the infamous 2020 towards a close. We hope that you and your loved ones are able to celebrate the holidays safely. Please utilize one or all of the many means of communication technology to keep each other as close as responsibly possible
Be encouraged to take the lead of the medical and scientific professionals that have taken charge of our public health safety. Trust that they have the best interest of their loved ones at heart and at the forefront of their efforts to protect all Americans.
Please, continue to vigilantly maintain the social responsibility (distance) protocols that have been established. They’re not perfect, but they’re working. This new normal is more so different than new. We got this!
Due to the pandemics [yes plural], the Chamber had to radically alter nearly all of the fourth quarter projects and events such as the Central Illinois Black Expo, our Heart of Christmas Toy Giveaway, and even the annual State convention. We, frankly, needed to shift focus to helping our constituents and communities navigate through this year while also giving the appropriate attention to our own families.
We’re proud to be able to bring you our 15th Annual ILBCC State Conference on a virtual platform. This will be a truly unique experience as we take a little time over the course of two days to celebrate the meaningful relationships that we’ve built throughout Illinois. We’ll spotlight the transactions that have helped to create essential transformations for Black communities as well as all parties involved.
First, we “Set the Narrative”; There are actually two pandemics raging through our America right now! We are at war against Covid-19, and the full out economic assault on Black communities’ wages on. Yet, we are persevering.
Then, we solidify how we are “Moving the Agenda” for Black businesses and communities. We’ll convey this through a series of high impact industry symposiums and our live matchmaking platform. Features such as “The Future of Corporate Diversity & Equity Forum,” the Coalition for Black Media Equity, the “Re-Imagining Healthcare for Black Communities” symposium, and perennial favorite like “Contracting with State Agencies” make this a must-attend event for businesses and entrepreneurs of all sizes and capacities.
Have a Blessed & Merry Christmas, and Cheers to a Happy New Year!
Despite a few hazy situations looming, the clouds are clearing, and horizons are bright indeed for Illinois’ Black business community, so stay tuned and stay engaged!
