You will enjoy great jazz by Friends of the Ensemble—John Cooper and Friends, Brianna Thomas, and the beautiful sounds of The Heritage Ensemble. Indulge in delectable hors d’oeuvres, prepared by Chef Michael Little of Sexy Little Eatery (SLE) and a beverage to be picked up on the day of the event between 3 and 5 PM (CST). Tickets $60
The Heritage Ensemble, celebrating 21 years of “edutainment” in Central Illinois, was conceived out of a need to fill a cultural void of the lack of diversity in major performance groups in the region. Each presentation is an invitation to join us on the amazing journey that educates, entertains, and heightens awareness of the continuous impact of musical genres born out of the African American experience in this country, unearthing forgotten works that have escaped our collective memory —
