“These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So, when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise, glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.” 1Peter 1:7 (NLT)
“The check is in the mail.” Some treat faith as if it can be replaced by mail, then trials come (this, I promise you) and cause horrible feelings of being left alone.
Faith is more important than any physical possession. Just think of how we inhale and exhale, expecting our breath to automatically be supplied. This is absentminded faith. But suppose we decide to remain present, to maintain an attitude of gratitude, and store up golden faith before times of trauma? Let us be grateful.
Faith is as fragile and valuable an asset as our babies and elderly people. Like them, it requires priority treatment, diligence, care and protection. These things come through constant prayer.
During trials, it becomes irrefutably obvious that prayer and faith go together. “Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things unseen.” Are we grateful when our faith is renewed with every breath we take?
I heard that God created the world. He loves and is the greatest. He heals, comforts sadness, disallows hate, eradicates fear, eases disappointment, gives rest during trials, and he will never leave or forsake His own.
I’ve had joys, excitement, praise, and happiness, to name a few exigencies of my life but not excluding the opposites. Through all these blessed years, Faith in God has never been negotiable: it is my constant hope. Faith has given me courage when my heart was breaking as family members passed away all too soon.
When the atmosphere seems hopeless, by Faith, He gives us strength to do kind deeds when it seems silly and unappreciated.
He was not satisfied to simply love the world as it was, (“only evil continually”) but His coming into the world in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh, so the righteousness of the law is of Him, not of man. He negated perishing by paying our sin debt without recompense from anyone.
Now, just because we can “la- la-la” through life without doing anything does not suggest that “anything goes.” Instead, it means that God is gracious and full of compassion, rich in mercy, and has given us a free will. Consequently, man can really thrive by choice with his allotted measure of faith, or be non-productive. By having Faith in God, we can live with a common-sense understanding that the world was formed at God’s command. (when He spoke)
Some people have good deeds, which are necessary ingredients to faith. James 2:18 says “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.
A MAN WILL CALL HIMSELF WISE, SAYING “FAITH IS ALL I NEED,” BUT GOD WANTS US TO PRAY, DO GOOD DEEDS AND HAVE FAITH.
