By the time you find a friend to help you carry that heavy unit outside, load it into a truck, and figure out where to take it, you’ve wasted a whole day!
If that sounds like a lot of work, the Ameren Illinois Energy Efficiency Program has an answer. Our Appliance Recycling Initiative will collect up to two full-size, working refrigerators or freezers per year and send you a check for $50 per unit! It’s a great, low effort way to reduce your home’s energy usage, and make money in the process!
All collected units are processed and recycled according to EPA guidelines, so you can be sure that your old refrigerator or freezer is being disposed of safely.
