Mat. 3:16 …the heavens were opened…
Rev. 19:11 after that I saw the heaven open
Day began because “..the heavens were opened.” (Matt. 3:16) In the brief hours of today lie all the facts of our existence- the bliss of growth, the glory of actions, and the splendor of beauty. Gaze across the sky and get a vision of how uncluttered heaven’s doorway is. God made us for himself, and there is rest in him for you. Expect life today! Yesterday is only a dream and tomorrow is only a vision; but today, well-lived, makes yesterday a dream of happiness and tomorrow a vision of hope. This dawn, this salutation of the heavenly light, commands an appropriate response of gratitude. This *eye-opener: it’s a summon to rise, shine, and give God the glory. It is never too early to pray when God watches over each second of the world, never closing his eyes to sleep. When the day has ended from its toils and strife, he remains the joy of life with his door standing open to let all know that he is at home with the rolling spheres, and at home with broken hearts, rich, poor, beggars, and thieves. All-day, he says come unto me all of you even if you labor and are heavily laden; heaven is never closed.
Behold, I see the heavens opened. (Acts 7:56) It is not ajar but wide open. As time goes by slowly, it can acquaint us to the underlying beauty as well as the apparent sweet enticement of today. The greeting of the morning light is an invitation for our magnificent potential to flourish. Although yesterday is gone, the evidence of a day gone by is the blooming flower, the scab over yesterday’s wound, the absence of the sting of the antiseptic, a thank-you bouquet delivered to your door, a peaceful hour of consecration, and our favorite ensemble feels and looks suitable. We may hear an echo saying, “well done, my good and faithful servant.” Walk in the beautiful luring light where the dewdrops of mercy shine brightly. When the spring showers caress our faces, let’s be provoked to live well today!
Acts 10:11 (he saw the heavens open) Heaven’s boundless supply store is open and fully stocked to supply God’s universe richly. You can be sure that his commodities are not replaceable in whole or part for another of like nature. Make heavenly decisions to live, love, laugh, and be happy as life goes on. We cannot hinder Life (Jesus) even if we think we want to die. Storms of diverse natures may be frightening, but let us lean our back against heaven’s wall and “be still.” God has reasons for each season, but Heaven is always open, and there is nothing to stop anyone from calling on Jesus (Life) who answers prayer. If the sky is grey or your fingertips feel numb, be reminded that “Abundant Life” is free. NOW! Because heaven never closes, we can make it through anything.
