Event will premiere the most talented artist in the Central Illinois area
Peoria’s Got Talent is an idea that was birthed through Pastor Nell Washington, the power house vocalist, and lead singer of Peoria’s own Nell and The Gospel Connection. The event is being sponsored by Born 2 Sing Recordings and New Freedom True Holiness Ministries. Born 2 Sing is the newly formed Independent Gospel Recording Label founded by Victor L. Washington. He is an alumnus of Nell and The Gospel Connection.
Nell and The Gospel Connection has been an inspiration in Peoria and all over the world for many years. They have won numerous awards, and have appeared on “The Bobby Jones Gospel Retreat” in Nashville, TN at the “Grand Ole Opry.” The group has released three albums in their prime and their unique sound and message of hope and salvation through the love of Jesus Christ is still in high demand.
“Our passion for the talent show is to provide a platform, to showcase the hidden gifts and talents that the people of Peoria have to offer,” said Mr. Washington. This year the label is releasing “The Best of Nell and The Gospel Connection” as well as a brand new single from Born 2 Sing’s first female solo artist, “Tamiko Jones Baker” better known as “Miko.”

Cash prizes awarded: Third Place $50; Second Place $75; Grand Prize $200 along with a chance to record your own song released on “Born 2 Sing” Recording and featured on all digital outlets. A special honor, “The Lifetime Achievement Award” will also be presented to musicians who have paved the way.
“Peoria’s Got Talent” will be held on September 28, 2019 at Victory Christian Church, 603 W. Nebraska Ave. The Show is FREE. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Showtime: 6 p.m.
