The public is invited to come enjoy a fantastic evening of food, fellowship and entertainment on Friday, September 13, 2019.This event takes place at 6:30pm at the Gateway Building on the Peoria Riverfront and will pay tribute to Gospel music and musicians. Proceeds from this event will help with scholarships given to Peoria area college bound high school seniors. The local chapter’s special guest will be the former Central Regional Director Kathy Walker-Steele.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is the oldest Greek-Letter organization established by African-American college-educated women. The sorority currently has close to 300,000 members world-wide. The mission of the sorority is to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, and to be of service to all mankind. The local chapter needs community support to help impact the lives of kids right here in the “Heart of Illinois.”
