The 2019 Peoria Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. “Kappa Weekend” was held Friday, June 28th and Saturday, June 29th!
The Weekend kicked off with the Kappa Scholarship Golf Outing, on Friday, June 28th. Tee off was 12:00 to 1:00 PM at Peoria Park District Kellogg Executive Nine Golf Course, 7716 N. Radnor Rd. Peoria, IL 61615.
The 80+ weather did not compromise an exciting afternoon of best ball golf among the 6 teams participating. Scores ran the gamut from 6 over par to 6 under par by the winning team of Marshall Davis, Roy McKay, Charles Timmes and Elijah T. Sansom.
Making a SIGNIFICANT contribution to the winning score was the HOLE-IN-1 by Brother Roy McKay with an 7 iron at the par-3 150 yard 8th hole! One bounce on the green and it was in the hole. First to confirm the accomplishment was Brother Bryant Carter whose team was playing on the adjacent fairway. Brother McKay has been swinging the clubs on the links for many years and scored his very first hole-in-1 with all of the brothers to witness and celebrate!
The Golf Teams met to receive their trophies @ The Pour House on Willow Knolls while they enjoyed chicken wings and pizza, Saturday afternoon the Kappa Weekend started with The Post-Game Day Party @ Casa De Arte on Jefferson. Transportation to the Kappa Kruise was provided by Peoria All Access.
The annual Kappa Weekend wrap-up event Kappa Kruise was held on the Spirit of Peoria, 100 Northeast Water Street, Peoria, IL 61602 on Saturday, June 29th : Boarded at 7:00 pm, Kruise 8:00 PM to 10:00 pm and after Party from 10:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
Over $1200 were raised to support the scholarship fund.
