The charismatic and energetic personality of Kelly Ruth Cornish Robbins was fondly remembered February 2nd, as family, friends and business associates gathered at Progressive Baptist Church in Aurora, Illinois.  Mrs. Robbins, 52, was born April 23, 1966 and transcended peacefully with family by her side on January 23, 2019.

Born and raised in Peoria, Illinois, Kelly was the youngest of three children born to the late Dr. Dorothy G. Cornish and Herman Cornish. She was the fun-loving sister to Janet Cornish Davis and brother, Kenneth Cornish. She graduated from Bergan High School and Bradley University. Kelly was employed at WMBD radio, State Farm Insurance and Wells Fargo, just to name a few of the places where her talents were appreciated

Beautiful Kelly lay in state Friday evening and received her Omega Omega rites from her beloved sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. More than 150 sorority sisters from Theta Epsilon Chapter (Bradley University), the Peoria Alumnae Chapter and Bloomington-Normal Chapters were present to officially conduct the ceremony and comfort her family.

Praised for her devotion as a wife and mother, her children were stellar, as they listened to numerous accolades about their mother. Noah, Nicholas and daughter Kristian all expressed their feelings in a 12 page, color booklet. Her husband, Deron, wrote passionately about his wife, being the back bone of his family.

There was laughter through the tears and kindness over sorrow, as the mourners showed their gratitude to a life well lived.

Our Peoria sister, mother, daughter, friend and neighbor have joined the ancestors, but her spirit will never be forgotten.

So young, so soon, so haunting was her voice and laughter in our lives, but God called her home to grace his kingdom. Please pray for the family and her children.
