It’s time to tell our elected officials that we VOTED to put you in office and we will vote to take you out of office if you don’t have our best interest as your goal.
Friends and neighbors of the 61605 zip code I would like to invite you to become a part of the solution to revitalizing the Southside of Peoria. The time is now to be able to take a walk in your neighborhood without the fear of crime. The time is now to expect that your sidewalks and streets are in good condition to be able to travel on. The time is now that you should be able to go to a store in your neighborhood and shop for quality affordable food items, medicine, and household supplies. The time is now that you should demand that you have access to quality affordable housing to purchase and or rent in your neighborhood. The time is now to come together as a team and change the futures for our children and others who will live here; to take care of our elderly, to help our neighbors gain livable wage jobs so that they can take care of their families, to protect our children from the ills of society, and to help them receive a quality education.
The Southside Community United for Change (SCUC) is an organization which represents the citizens of the Southside of Peoria to help bring about the changes that need to be made to achieve a better quality of life for people we serve. There is strength in numbers, and we need you to become a part of this solution by becoming a member of this team. The membership meets every third Saturday at 11:30 am at the Lincoln Branch Library. The next meeting is November 17, 2018. We need YOU to be a part of the change that needs to happen for the Southside of Peoria. THE TIME IS NOW!
