Reflect, Celebrate, and Keep Going! By Katherine Young
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1). Everyone can agree that this year has been filled with a multitude of highs and lows. As a believer, I have to trust that all things are done by God on purpose in His purpose and be at peace in embracing the lessons that life serves.
What lessons have you learned this year? If you have not given yourself grace to reflect upon 2017, take time and do it today. What is life if all we do is post, snap, and chat about it, but never truly EMBRACE each day we are presented, with intention?
Living with intention has been a refreshing focus. My own personal journey of living with less regrets and utilizing more of my gifts outside of expected realms has been so revolutionary. I have allowed myself to open up new doors that I thought were shut, and create new doors to where there are none. And I am not alone. I want to encourage you to be thankful for what you have done and accomplished thus far, and know that when you get tired, it is okay to rest. Though it is December 2017, you do not have to cry in defeat because you may not have done everything on your ‘To-do’ list; as an alternative, rest, pray, praise, plan, and be proactive in continuing to live life in a more vibrant manner, and to live on purpose.
Live without seeking validation to write your story, start your business, learn a new language, take care of your health, manage your finances, or to even plan a nice trip. Live without seeking social media “Likes” but instead, to feel good about the choices you make, especially when you make time to consider someone else outside of yourself. Live knowing that this is your season, your time, and that you might as well make the most out of it instead of waiting on someone else to make it happen for you.
Celebrate what you have and don’t be afraid to learn more outside of your comfort zone. You are still here for a reason. May you embrace your journey with wonder and have a transformative year in 2018.
