The Illinois State Black Chamber of Commerce (ILBCC), the largest and most active voice for African American businesses in the state of Illinois, announces the hiring of Deavay Tyler as CFO. Tyler began working as CFO on September 1, 2017. Prior to this position, Tyler worked as the Chairman of the Chamber’s Banking and Finance Committee. A Chicago native, Tyler brings 17 years of finance experience to the Chamber and to his new role.
For the last nine years, Tyler was the CFO and the Chief Systems Officer for A & D Property, Inc. Before joining A & D Property, Tyler worked as the Assistant Vice President of Fifth Third Bank, LaSalle Bank, and JP Morgan Chase Bank. He got his start in the world of finance as a Financial Advisor for Morgan Stanley. He received a MA degree in International Business/Spanish from the Universidad de los Andes, Venezuela and a BA from the University of Minnesota, Morris.

In just a month’s time, Deavay has already had noteworthy accomplishments with his new role at the Chamber,” said Larry D. Ivory, President/CEO of the ILBCC.
In addition to his new Chamber position, Tyler is also the CEO and Lead Consultant of DTJ Consulting, Ltd. where he is responsible for managing the company’s finances, operations, business development, consulting, coaching, and technical services. “I am honored to be working with the ILBCC’s team as the CFO,” said Tyler. “This is a very exciting time to be joining the organization, and I believe there are significant opportunities ahead of us as we continue our path to leadership in growing African American businesses.”
