Now Listen By Charity E. Sephus

The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe. Proverbs 18:10

“Now listen” is an expression one of my professors used to command attention! He meant, “Stop everything you’re doing, heads up and pens down. This is so important that I want you to memorize it now and make your notes later.”

I coin his phrase here. Now listen! When you say “JESUS.” He is the Divine Intelligence, he is the First and the Last, he is one with the Father, and so we must call him by his name. God has given his son the name Jesus which is powerful enough to give us all we need to know, to live eternally. When we examine the intricacies of Christ, we will finally realize the satisfaction of simple obedience to the Word of God.

After dwelling among us in the flesh, (John 1:14) the crucifixion was not the fulfillment of his purpose, it was only an interruption in the process of proving his greatness. The darkness of ignorance can never cancel out that Light of Truth, that Jesus rose from the dead. When we say Jesus, darkness must flee.

Atheists don’t understand, and agnostics may suggest your faith and your actions are foolish. There are those who say, “Faith is mythical.” The Bible says that “some trust in chariots, and some trust in horses, but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.” The power of horses and chariots is nothing comparable to the Lord our God. They are brought down and fallen, but by trusting in God, we are risen with Christ. We’ll indubitably keep the faith in our lifetime friend, who is Jesus.  Faith is more than a thought; it is an action word. We must be like Peter and John here; I mean relentless in living by faith.

NOW LISTEN! We can’t successfully fight battles in our insignificant name. Whatever we do in word or deed, the bible says we must do all in Jesus’ name. Confrontations by the enemy make opportunities for us to stand firm in the name of Jesus. There is no other name under the heavens where-by men must be saved. There is no victory in our bloodline until we are born into the family of God. In Jesus’ name, we can get a break-through the enemy fortress.

It is good to know what it means when you say, Jesus? The devil will get nervous, demons tremble, witches fall back, and hexes are broken. Jesus has risen with power over all the powers of the enemy. If our world seems to be spinning out of control in its terrors and perversions, it needs to be connected to Jesus. Let us call the name of Jesus while we’re living by faith, and believe that hell regurgitates. Cancer bows to it, high blood pressure, leukemia, diabetes, and joint disorders, are all subject to the power in his name.  His summons causes liars and backbiters to retreat. There is something about that name. Even while the name is sweet; it is powerful.

Touch your heart and say “Jesus.” Jesus over my house, my finances, health, children, situations, circumstances, conditions in your flesh. Lay hands on yourself and say Jesus, heal my mind, soul, situation, and Jesus, bless the job, my life, and those mountains, make a way, bring me out. Pray “Lord, I want you to know I’m not praising death nor life, nor any other creature, but I am praising God In The Name of Jesus.

The name of Jesus is a strong tower where the righteous run in and are safe. Jesus! Our healer, deliverer, way maker, friend, mountain mover, rose of Sharon, lily of the valley, bright and morning star! Praise ye the name of the Lord Jesus.
