The Illinois State Black Chamber of Commerce, affiliate Chambers and businesses from around the state will gather for their Annual Legislative Day at 10:00 AM, April 26, 2017 outside of the Capitol in Springfield. “We will meet with various legislators, key agency department heads, and Governor Rauner to share with them our perspective on how to help improve the business climate in Illinois,” said Larry D. Ivory, President/CEO of the Illinois State Black Chamber of Commerce.
Robert Dale, Chairman of the Illinois State Black Chamber of Commerce and former President of RJ Dale Marketing stated, “If you want to do more business with the State as well as private industry, you must influence legislation and policy. I can personally testify that a key to RJ Dale winning the $100 million Illinois Lottery contract was a policy change engineered by lobbying efforts of black-owned businesses.”
A Networking Reception will follow from 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM in the Rendezvous Room at the Wyndham Springfield City Centre (formerly the Springfield Hilton Hotel) located at 700 East Adams Street in Springfield, Illinois. Attendees will have an opportunity to meet with legislators, businesses, various organizations, and chamber members from around the state.
“I attend the ILBCC’s Legislative Day because it’s important to let our legislators know that we exist and that there are barriers that still keep us from doing major business,” said William Kyles, Vice President Major and Minor Detailz; City Council Person, city of Champaign; and President of the Champaign County Black Chamber of Commerce.
”This will be the largest gathering of black business owners from around the state. Please join us and don’t miss this great opportunity to have your voice heard,” said Larry D. Ivory.
