7th Annual Circle of Promise Breast Cancer Survivors, Caregivers and Friends Breakfast

A morning of celebration, inspiration and education greeted over 500 guests at the 7th Annual Circle of Promise Breast Cancer Survivors, Caregiver and Friends breakfast held Saturday April 1st at the Par-A-Dice Hotel Ballroom. This year’s event featured Dr. Sheri Prentiss, Susan G. Komen 3-Day national spokesperson.

Dr. Prentiss is a physician, author, speaker and breast cancer survivor whose life’s work was dramatically altered when she developed Lymphedema as a result of her breast cancer treatment. Dr. Prentiss now dedicates her life to encouraging others to L.I.V.E. life to its fullest by:

Loving yourself and others, Inspiring those around you, Voicing your dreams and ambitions, and Enjoying life.

Along with Dr. Prentiss inspiring words all breast cancer survivors were recognized and received a special gift. Mrs. Georgia Little was recognized as the “Circle of Promise Survivor of the Year” for her work with the Pray for the Cure program and her lifelong support of those walking the breast cancer journey.

The Circle of Promise annual breakfast is hosted by the Peoria Minority Breast Health Advisory Group know as Circle of Promise.(COP) Circle of Promise is a group of African-American women who work together to provide breast health education, outreach and survivor support in the Peoria area. They work tirelessly to clear up misconceptions about breast cancer and help minimize barriers and access to care for minority women in the Peoria community.
