2016 Hottest Wedding Trends Spring/Summer By Michelle D. Sanders

This year bridal gowns have a broad range of flair and elegance. Here are a few of my picks for 2016.

Michelle Sanders photoWe have the basic Bateau Necklines with less embellishments and a classic style. Check out designers Oscar de la Renta and Lela Rose for this style. The Dipped ‘V” Neckline is a sexier look with a plunging neckline for a more intriguing look. Look at designers Anne Barge and Christos. Blush colored dresses with just a pop of color are nice for spring weddings. Shades of pink and rose are some of my favorites. Look at gowns by Romona Keveza and Pamella Roland for ideas of pink and rose colors. For the younger and trendier brides we have the Cropped Top bridal dresses. Please make sure you are age appropriate for this look, and let’s not body shame but you need to be toned in the belly area ladies. Sorry to stress this but, you ladies who are thin and toned make sure you only show a sliver of skin. This will make this look chic and casual if you wear it “fashionably correct”. You can see this look with designers Theia and Reem Acra. This next look, I like although it hasn’t really taken off as of yet is the floral gown. I like designer Naeem Khan’s look and Elizabeth Fillmore for this style. Other gown trends are layers of Lace and the Stone Washed Shades. In the Stone Washed gowns I like designers Liancarlo style.

When planning your wedding you might want to look at lighting to create the look you seek. Use tea lights with heart-shaped holders, origami decorations with lighting, and mason jars for outside lighting. Lucite Accents is another way to make your wedding or reception look glamorous. Try to use white font for best results if you use a color background.

Other trends are the cascading floral; this has not been seen in a while and is now making its way back on the scene. This can be for the bride or for your reception center piece if you are using a longer table. If you like you can cascade your cake with a floral design as well. Another favorite of mine is cascading your greenery down a staircase and use candles to illuminate the look.

This next trend is Champagne Escort Cards. It’s an elegant way to personalize your reception by welcoming guests in attendance.

These are just a few of the hottest trends for 2016 that might help you in your planning.
