The Gala will begin with a social hour at 6 p.m., and dinner at 7 p.m. Musical entertainment will be provided by Preston Jackson & Friends. A highlight of the Gala will be a keynote address by Maggie Anderson, Founder of The Empowerment Experiment and Author of the book ‘Our Black Year’…”One Family’s Quest to Buy Black in America’s Racially Divided Economy.” Author Maggie Anderson has appeared on CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, BET News and CBS Morning News, among other national television and radio shows. She has become the leader of a ‘conscious consumerism’ movement that supports quality black businesses and mainstream companies with substantive supplier diversity.

Proceeds from this gala will be used to provide education, training and business assistance to entrepreneurs needing assistance to start, grow and sustain their business. It is believed that lack of business development in some areas has added to the divestment in those communities in addition to its impact on poverty, crime and housing.
